Pakistan Railways Introduces an Anti-Fog Tool for Winter Season: A “Digital Railway Driving System” has been introduced by Pakistan Railway in association with the University of Engineering Taxila. This system will help train drivers navigate the tracks more easily in hazy and smog-filled conditions.
In addition to preventing collisions, the technology will assist in teaching drivers how to operate their engines in dense smog and fog. According to the PR spokesperson, it will display the track clearly for up to 700 meters.
Train Driver Assistant System officially launched by Pakistan Railways (PR) for Fog in Winter Season
The Train Driver Assistant System was officially launched by Pakistan Railways CEO Shahid Aziz and Divisional Superintendent of Railways for Lahore Muhammad Hanif Gul.
In addition, the digital system will be able to detect hazards up to 700 meters away, including gates, signals, level crossings, and traces of passing traffic.
Originally intended to be installed in four engines, the anti-fog device was to be gradually expanded to cover all trains in the upcoming year.
According to Railways CEO Shahid Aziz, the train driver assistance system will help ensure that trains move more quickly on foggy days and will also lessen the likelihood of accidents on particularly foggy days.
